Within this short, but informative post, I will provide you 10 tips, tricks and suggestions that will keep you and your pet all the more lovable. This is the first of a series of articles that will bring these diverse tips right to you, the owner. Therefore, to give our pets a little more of that undying love and devotion our top ten tips have been listed below:
1. Give them Lots of Love: Every pet, weather it be a dog, horse or reptile needs human interaction and socializing. Though many think that an hour or two is enough, the more love you give them, the better they feel! We all want our pets to be happy, stress free and to feel like we're their for them. Therefore, whenever you have a spare bit of time, be sure to interact with your pet, and let them know how much you love them.
2. Freedom: Give your pets the freedom they love with lots of playtime and exercise. This is particularly important for high energy dogs, and your furry friends in their mobile home. Everyone needs a bit of space to burn off some of that excess energy, and to stretch out and relax a little.
Weather it be a Hamster, Guinea Pig or your Canine Companion we all need some space and a change of pace. Our pets regardless of the animal are extremely curious, and as such, they love to explore! Give them new challenges, places to explore hid and things to discover. This will help your pet get some well needed R&R when you're working, which keeps both sides happy and comfortable.
Socialization with the same species of pet is pertinent when it comes to your pets stress level, and overall happiness. All pets, regardless of the species, love to have a friend, much like we would, they need constant interaction. Therefore, if you have the space, and the budget to ensure that both pets are well taken care of, it's always advised that you get two to ensure your pet stays stress free and happy.
4. Toys: Giving your pet objects to preoccupy themselves during your time away, is a useful tool for several reasons. First, it saves more furniture than you can imagine. Cat claws and leather are like oil and water, they tend not to mix as well as many think them to in the beginning.
Therefore, to invest in a wide variety of toys, treats and mind boggling puzzles for your pet, will give them a distraction; a very good distraction, allowing your leather couch to live another day! Toys, also stimulate particular parts within your pet's brain, which keeps them all the more happy and lovable. Therefore, I would suggest a few toys, not too many, they'll get distracted, and to rotate between two or three different toys a week, to keep them interested and engaging.
5. Bath Time: Believe it or not, a pet and how clean it is, affects how stressed they get significantly. Overall grooming such as: Nail trimming, hair touch ups, brushing and the occasional sudsy adventure are important to keeping your pet happy and healthy. When you're pet feels dirty, or unclean, much like us owners, we get down.
We feel sad, and nothing ever really feels the same. Now, this doesn't mean you take your pet in the bath with you every other day and have a super sudsy adventure with you and Mr. Rubber Duckie, moderation is just as important, as you don't want health issues to occur from being too clean! Who knew being too clean could be just as depressing as being dirty. Alas Mr. Rubber Duckie will have to wait until he is absolutely needed. But cleanliness increases your pets confidence, and they will be sure to thank you for it.
